Another two international airlines are interested in using Peru as a hub for transit of passengers and cargo, because their executives think that the country's location is unique in Latin America, said Peru's Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC). # Robert Jackson says :

I hope one of these is from Australia. The current situation makes it very difficult and time consuming to travel between Australia and Peru.

Yes,David...I agree. The biggest hassle is the 8 hour wait at Santiago en route TO Peru, via Lan Chile.Add your comment
Hopefully Qantas on its own, or in conjunction with Lan, can do something to improve the timing.
If we could cut NZ out of the flight path, that would be even better....but I don't think the jets can carry enough fuel to go direct to Santiago or Lima, from Melbourne or Sydney.
