La Cristina is a bakery/restaurant that opened three years ago; from the beginning, its preparations improved daily.
It is located on a corner of the San Isidro district with two different areas. On the side, the market offers fresh bread, viennoiserie, and sweets you can order to go or via delivery. Conversely, the main dinner allows you to enjoy an all-day experience.
A Terrace offers an inviting, homey feeling to begin the day with a simple croissant or coffee or to enjoy their brunch experience where benedict eggs are served over croissants. Free-range eggs are done as you want with homemade whole-grain bread or fresh fruit that comes in a bowl with freshly brewed coffee or natural juice.
Sandwiches at La Cristina are taken seriously. Chef Carlos Vial has a great “Pollo Paltón,” which has chicken breast slices, avocado, and mayo, served with rustic bread or, for an extra, croissants. The Braised Pancetta has pancetta, sweet potatoes, fresh onion “sarza,” and mayonnaise made with rocoto for heat.
For an On-the-go quick lunch, they offer Pizzettas, quiches, and Spanish-style tortilla de papas, which has sliced potatoes and diced chorizo spañol for flavor and texture and is served with aioli.
Suppose you want to sit for a complete meal the Pollito de Campo. In that case, half a tender chicken with potatoes, shallots, and mushrooms with rice is perfect, or for the fresh but wholesome, the quinoa salad has fava beans, gouda cheese, tomato, and avocado if you want; you can order a chicken breast extra for the salad if you want
Desserts are ready to serve, our favorite the basque cheese tart with fruits, or the tiramisú; however, every month, they offer specials, like a Mother’s Day unique Croissant or the puff pastry turrón for October.
The Liquid Experience offers coffee roasted by Milimetrica, fresh fruit juice, alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, beer, and wine.
IN THE KNOW: La Cristina opens daily from 7:30 am to 10:00 pm, it’s located on 190 Coronel Odrizola St. San Isidro district.
