Peru ranks 63 out of 140 countries in the global competitiveness ranking prepared by the World Economic Forum and the regions of Apurímac and Junín are the least competitive at this moment in the country.
According to El Comercio, the region that has advanced the most in the competitiveness ranking in Ucayali. “The region advanced three positions and ranked 17 out of 25 regions”, they said, adding that the improvement is due to the better performance in the health and labor sectors.
This regional data was known thanks to the INCORE (Competitiveness Index) 2019 ranking done by the Peruvian Institute of Economics (IPE) with support of the Private Competitiveness Council (CPC), and which illustrates the advances in the economic and social development of all regions of Peru.
“INCORE quantifies the relative position of the 25 regions – separating the Metropolitan Lima and Callao from the rest of the region – through 40 indicators grouped into six pillars of competitiveness: Economic Environment, Infrastructure, Health, Education, Labor and Institutions”, you can read in El Comercio.
