The President of the Chamber of Tourism and Foreign Trade of Paracas (CAPATUR), Eduardo Jáuregui, revealed that since 2007 to date, $150 million US dollars have been invested in first-class international hotel infrastructure in Paracas.
First-class hotels are four and five-star establishments and at the present time, about $10 million US dollars have already been invested in the sector of two and three-star hotels.
Jáuregui recalled in a press release that after the August 2007 earthquake, there were practically no tourists interested in coming to Paracas.
“Taking into account the notorious annual growth of the tourist flow, the head of CAPATUR, estimated that by 2025 there will be an arrival of 1.5 million visitors, between nationals and foreigners”, the statement said.
He also highlighted the growth of the real estate sector in the aforementioned region which reached $150 million US dollars.
On the other hand, Eduardo Jáuregui announced the construction of a modern convention center to begin next April 2020, whose investment will amount to $1.5 million US dollars in a 3,200-meter plot.
“The convention center can accommodate about 3,000 people and among its main features there will be three auditoriums, the largest will have a capacity for 800 people and the other two small environments for 80 people each,” he said.
