This upcoming weekend the Gochiso Peru – Festival Gastronómico y Cultural Nikkei will take place for the 3rd year in a row. The festival will take place on Friday, May 3, Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5. Gochiso is both a gastronomic and cultural festival which allows the visitors to learn more about the history and culture of the Japanese Peruvian community. This year there will be over 30 local restaurants offering their dishes that specialize in Nikkei cuisine that spotlights the combination of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine. There will be an agenda of many activities and events available such as live shows, cultural activities, stands selling products and souvenirs and much more. The location is at Domos Art on the Costa Verde in San Miguel.
You will have the opportunity to taste dishes such as sushi, sashimi, Maki, ramens, sautéed, grilled dishes, soba and ramen, yakis, ceviches, poke bowls, burgers, street food, and desserts. Japanese beer, Nikkei cocktails, sake and many other beverages will also be available.
Over 30 restaurants that are emblematic of Nikkei food have been invited to entice guests with their cuisine. There will be at least 100 or more dishes available to sample at Gochiso. Traveling and Living in Peru has visited almost half of these restaurants on previous occasions for restaurant reviews.
