Yesterday, the world celebrated International Happiness Day and it was known that in Peru, the city of Huancayo ranked as the happiest in the country.
“Huancayo shines with its own light and with increasing intensity as the happiest city in Peru, due to its many festivities and the way of life of its population that distributes its time for work and fun”, said Andina News Agency.
However, the head of Junín’s Deconcentrated Culture Directorate, José Carlos Rivadeneyra Orihuela, said that it is not only Huancayo that is happy, but the entire Mantaro Valley.
“There is a living culture that manifests the best of each town through its dances, its music, gastronomy and art”, the news agency wrote.
For his part, the mayor of Huancayo, Henry Lopez Cantorín, said that “talking about happiness is talking about our customs, our cultural events such as Huaylarsh, where Huancaínos overflow with joy and receive you at home and share food and drink without any distinction”.
