According to the organization of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, the competition is called “Talento Perú”. It was launched “with the intention of recruiting a significant number of volunteer artists”.
The auditions will be held in May, and will last two days. The goal is to recruit 3.000 dancers and artists for the Opening Ceremony on July 26th, in the National Stadium.
The volunteers will be led by 150 professional dancers and 13 local choreographers. The choreographies, created by various professionals, will be supervised by the Peruvian dancer Vania Masías.
Members of dance schools can apply, as well as spontaneous talents (non-professionals, not necessarily dancers) from different areas, cities or regions of the country.
“Talento Perú” seeks to encourage Peruvians from different parts of the country to get involved in Lima 2019, the most important multi-sport event on the continent. Foreign citizens may also be part of this calling.
The Italian company Balich Worldwide Shows is in charge of giving shape to the event in Peruvian territory. The company have done or been involved in the ceremonies of Torino 2006, Sochi 2014 and Rio 2016 (produced by CC2016).
The XVII Pan American Games will be hosted by Lima, from July, 26th to August, 11th, with preliminary rounds in certain events beginning on July, 24th. “Jugamos todos”, or “Let’s all play” is the motto for this edition. All 41 members of the Pan American Sports Organization are expected to compete in 424 events in 39 sports, in venues in and around the Capital city.
