As we get through the end of the Southern Hemisphere winter it’s the perfect time for emoliente, a hot herbal Peruvian drink.
Emoliente is a tasty Peruvian drink with flax seeds, barley, and a variety of other medicinal herbs. Personally, it’s one of my favorite drinks ever.
I think fondly back to last year when I lived and worked in the city of Huaraz; the emoliente vendors on the streets helped me get through many a cold high altitude night.
I remember one vendor, in particular, he was an older gentleman who worked diligently all night and his cart was always busy.
You just have to try it to understand why it’s one of Peru’s most popular drinks.
So after watching the video below from Mucha Ale Youtube Channel, you’ll know how to make it too! To be honest, this video only scratches the surface. There are a lot of varieties of emoliente!
We’re just getting over our winter here in Lima…
For those of you up in the Northern Hemisphere, you might want to get some emoliente ingredients stored up for your winter to come…
