Bonus tips!

HOW LONG WILL
YOU WALK BY DAY?

You will be hiking between 6 to 8 hours per day,
depending on how fast you can go.

BEFORE THE TREK
• It is necessary that you get adapted to the altitude
before the trek spending a couple of days in Cusco.
• The day before starting the hike, you will have a
meeting with our representative at your hotel in
Cusco or the Sacred Valley for a pre-departure
briefing. You will receive all the information needed
and make sure to ask all the questions you have!
• Break in your trekking shoes if new to make them
comfortable for walking long distances.
YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT…
• We will provide a duffle bag for your personal
belongings and will be available every evening at the
camp. Porters will carry this bag, so it does not have
to exceed 7 kg (15 lbs).
• You can carry a daypack along the way. Don’t forget
sunglasses, hat, mosquito lotion, sunblock, additional
snacks, a bottle for water, camera, Peruvian soles, a
flashlight and your original passport.
• Tips are usually given to the porters and cook the
last night of camping, so bring enough cash to do so.
30 to 50 soles per porter per day are recommended.
