Peru And 11 Other Countries Meet To Analyze Venezuelan Migration Crisis

Because of the high number of Venezuelan migrants in the region, 12 countries, including Peru, will meet today and tomorrow in Quito (Ecuador) to analyze the migratory flows and put together a joint strategy of attention to the thousands of foreigners that are fleeing from their country.

“For this technical meeting, which will be hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador, the participation of authorities from Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Colombia, Chile and Mexico is planned. Also from Panama, Paraguay, Bolivia and Uruguay. Until yesterday, Venezuela did not confirm”, said La República.

The Vice Minister of Human Mobility of Ecuador, Santiago Chávez, said that the meeting will seek solutions to the unusual flow of Venezuelans, which has become a regional issue.

Among the proposals that Ecuador is making are the migration projects with a development focus for the insertion of Venezuelan citizens to improve their quality of life.
