For the Airbnb Internet rental platform, Peru is “the third largest market in the region after Brazil and Mexico,” according to Chip Conley, strategic director of hotel and leadership at Airbnb, cited by Perú 21.
Conley also informed that most Airbnb users in Peru are foreigners, who outnumber national users of the app. “Nine out of ten Airbnb users are foreigners,” he told the aforementioned media.
On the other hand, Conley described as positive the management of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), Rogers Valencia.
Airbnb is a company that operates an online marketplace and hospitality service for people to lease or rent short-term lodging. People can rent their own properties, such as rooms, apartments, homestays, cottages, or also hostel beds and hotel rooms.
This app is mostly used to facilitate experiences related to tourism, walking tours, and restaurant reservations.
