The Public Ministry ordered the formation of the commission in charge of implementing the specialized subsystem for the protection and punishment of violence against women and members of the family group.

“This is the first step towards the creation of specialized prosecutor’s offices to investigate these crimes in the Public Prosecutor’s Office”, informed Andina News Agency today.

According to the ministry, it is expected to have a specialized justice system to investigate these cases, as well as other similar crimes.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office indicated also that specialized prosecutors will be available for the protection and sanction of violence against women and members of the family group.

The commission in charge of evaluating these measures in the Public Prosecutor’s Office will be chaired by the supreme public prosecutor, Zoraida Ávalos Rivera.
